This is not a transformation photo This week I’ve decided to do the 30 second transformation photo. These pics were taken second apart this morning. On the left my posture is poor, I’m pushing my belly out as far as possible, I adjusted my bottoms to show my gross, unsightly and horrid love handles. These are often concealed by my high waisted pants and bottoms that do fit so much better now. As much as it pains me to showcase these, it also proves that my body isn’t perfect and that I still have work to do and fat to lose (I’m working so hard to get rid of my love handles and lower tummy fat. Yes it has dramatically reduced already but it still exists and I’m still insecure about it). On the right I’m standing straight and comfortably. I’m lightly flexing and I’ve adjusted my bottoms to hide my love handles. I’m thankful for bikini bottoms that now fit well and hide these but I’m also trying to show that they still exist quite a bit and that not everything we see meets the eye here on social media. You can show you best angles and hide your flaws but at the end of the day what we chose to showcase is a reflection of ourselves. My body isn’t perfect. I still have imperfections and flaws that I’m slowly learning to be comfortable with. I want to be real and honest and open. Yes I’ve accomplished a lot, but yes my body still has less than ideal days when it doesn’t look its best. Fitness and health is not a fix. It’s not a destination. It’s a lifestyle. If you force your progress you know who you are cheating?! You. You only cheat you. Yes I like to show my best most of the time but I’ve also realized by not showing my worst that it only harms myself. Being vulnerable and imperfect is hard but lying to yourself is worse. I know I’m hard on myself, it’s a flaw on its own, but I’m slowly learning to be gentle and kind but it starts with being truthful to myself and knowing and understanding my imperfections and realizing that, although they exist, they don’t define me. I am not a before picture. I am not an after picture. I am not fat nor am I perfect. I’m flawed. I’m scarred. I’m insecure. But I’m learning and I’m hopeful that one day I’ll fully love me

It has been several weeks since I’ve done a lighting post. Lately I’ve gotten a few questions about my outdoor mirror I have a lengthy artsy background. I know and understand the value of natural light when photographing not just artwork but people as well! My house has very poor natural lighting because my carport and hurricane shutters tend to block out light. I have a full length mirror that stays in my room and I carry it outside to take pictures. I used to prefer outdoor pics because I saw my definition better in natural light. Now I see the same definition in my bathroom mirror so it’s not so much about making me feel better about my progress. It simply comes to aesthetics now. I just like the natural light best and my outdoor background being clutter free and neutral. I promise it’s nothing magical just a preference thing! These pics were all taken this morning within a few seconds of each other in my different lighting scenarios. Again, I’m happy with what I see in every lighting situation, but for my page image quality, I prefer natural light ☺️ I’m at the gym now so time to get my lift on with my girl @training4tacos Then we are getting a mani/ pedi!! Rest of the day will be meal prepping, cleaning, and crafting ☺️

“Tú puedes mostrar mejores ángulos y ocultar tus defectos, pero al final del día lo que hemos elegido para exhibir es un reflejo de nosotros mismos. Mi cuerpo no es perfecto. Todavía tengo imperfecciones y defectos con los que estoy aprendiendo poco a poco a sentirme cómoda. Quiero ser real, honesta y abierta (…) El fitness y la salud no es un objetivo. Es un estilo de vida. Si fuerzas tu progreso ¿sabes a quién estás engañando realmente? A ti”, sentenciaba Jess.

30 second transformation I wasn’t going to post this as I found it pretty confronting! But then I thought that’s a good reason to. There are just 30 seconds between these photos and some adjusting of my shorts! I scroll through so many inspirational pictures of skinny and fit girls who are showing their best photos, it shouldn’t but sometimes it gets me down about my own progress. So this serves as a reminder, that every #bbg girl is working extremely hard and you shouldn’t be so hard on yourself when comparing to some amazing photos, they may not look that way all the time (or they very much may but you are working on it)!! After my little sulk about these pictures I went and smashed some LISS and my full body workout #thekaylamovement #bbg #bbggirls #bbgcommunity #kaylasarmy #motivation #fat2fit #deathbykayla #transformation #fitfam #bbgfamily #sweatwithkayla #fitness #healthy #healthylifestyle #healthychange #bbgsupport #bbgbeginner #bbgaustralia #30secondtransformation #selfdoubt #staypositive #30secondbeforeandafter

⚡⚡️⚡⚡️️️JOIN THE CHALLENGE! Use hashtag #30secondbeforeandafter ⚡⚡⚡️️⚡️️ these photos were taken seconds apart this is NOT a before and after ❌ For #transformationtuesday, I’m sharing another 30 second before and after to show the power that images have and our ability to filter what we show the public. ▫️Left image: bad posture, sticking stomach out, pushing legs together. ▫️Right image: standing up straight, flexing stomach, pushing thighs apart. ▫️We create our own visual identity. We decide what to project to the rest of the world. Yes, it’s great to show the highlight reel when we’ve achieved our goals or have mornings abs to flex, but it’s important to share the struggles too. I think we all can connect with one another more when we realize that we all have our own challenges and bumps in the road! But I digress… I think we should all #keepitreal every now and again, so join the #30secondbeforeandafter tribe and show us what you’ve got!

❌THIS IS NOT A TRANSFORMATION PHOTO❌ I’ve jumped on the #30secondbeforeandafter challenge and have decided after much hesitation to share this photo. In the photo on the left I am tilting my pelvis forward, bloating my stomach as much as possible (btw I’ve got mad bloating skills), hunching my shoulders and slumping. In the photo on the right, I’m standing tall, I’m flexing my stomach, my spine is in proper alignment. Girls, for me this photo really reaffirmed how important it is to take your progress photos with the same posture, lighting, etc. It’s not about how big of a transformation you’ve had. It’s not about how skinny you appear to be or how heavy you were when you started your journey. It’s not about how you compare to other girls who are on the same week as you. I’ll tell you what it IS about: strength, integrity, fortitude–things we strive for each and every day that we wake up and choose to be honest with others, but first and foremost, honest with ourselves about our insecurities, our hopes, our struggles, our triumphs. At first this picture embarrassed me. I wasn’t going to share it and I’ve hung onto it for days debating. I’m doing it now because it’s REAL. So jump on the bandwagon or don’t–either way, let’s work together to keep this community transparent and goal driven! #transformationtuesday #not #honest

**THIS IS NOT A TRANSFORMATION PIC** I’m joining in on @workoutbean’s #30secondbeforeandafter challenge. As it suggests, these pictures were taken seconds apart, using different postures and sticking my stomach out and legs together (left) and flexing and stretching my torso (right). I always try to keep it real with you guys, but this challenge is a good reminder that pictures can be deceiving and people show what they want to show!!! I hope more people will join in this challenge Let’s keep it honest, ladies! #tgif #flexfriday #bbg #bbggirls #bbgfam #bbgcommunity #kaylasarmy #kaylaitsines #kayla_itsines #fitness #fitfam #strongnotskinny #girlswholift #girlswithmuscle #chickswholift #workout #exercise #health #bikinibodyguide #strongissexy #bbgsisters

Taken same day. Sticking my gut out in one, tensing in the other.

NOT a progress pic! The incomparable @sweetstofit tagged me for #30secondbeforeandafter and I did it this morning post-workout (after I managed to crawl upstairs to the showers ). The awesome @workoutbean created this tag to #keepitreal and I think that’s super important! In the pic on the left, I was slouching, puffing out my tummy and right under the light. In the second pic, I stood up straight, pelvic back and took a step back to change the lighting. I’ve made some AMAZING progress with #bbg and the improvement in my confidence has massively improved my posture and the way I carry myself, which helps show it off tagged ladies, if you’re feeling up for it, want to join in the challenge? #bbggirls #bbgsisters #bbgla #bbglosangeles #bbgcalifornia #bbgsocal #bbgcommunity #abs #kaylasarmy #kaylaitsines #thekaylamovement #honesthour #realtalk #fitness #exercise #eatwell #workout #gym #beactive #healthyliving
